Advertising disclosure
Online Aus Casinos costs nothing to read. The bills are paid by casino operators, who pay the site’s publisher, Barawind Media N.V., a commission when a reader registers through one of our links. Australian consumer protection expects advertising to be recognisable as advertising, and so do we. Below is every part of that deal, including the parts that do not flatter us.
Which links are commercial
Every button that leaves this site for a casino is a commercial link: the green “Play” and “Get bonus” buttons, the casino logos in our tables and every address that starts with /go/. They carry rel="sponsored nofollow" and open in a new tab. Under each table you will find the same short disclosure, so you never have to hunt for it.
Links to the ACMA, BetStop, Gambling Help Online, game studios and licensing registers are never paid. Nor are links between our own pages.
How the money is calculated
- Revenue share. The operator pays a percentage of the net revenue it earns from players we referred, paid month after month while those players keep playing.
- One-off fee (CPA). A fixed amount for a new player who registers and makes a first deposit.
- Hybrid. A smaller fixed fee plus a smaller share of revenue.
- Nothing when you read a page, and nothing when you click but do not register.
Deals are made with operators directly or through affiliate networks, and the networks can change rates at any time. We do not publish individual rates; they are commercial terms of the operator, and they do not reach the editors who write the scores.
What money cannot buy
Nothing on the editorial side. Money does not buy a position in a table, a score, a “recommended” badge or the removal of a critical paragraph. Positions come from the rating method: banking that works in AUD, bonus terms that can realistically be cleared, cashout speed we could document and the way support answers. When a brand pays more per player, it still sits where its score puts it.
Some casinos we list pay us nothing at all, because they have no programme or because we have not joined it. They are scored on the same scale. A brand that stops paying keeps its score; a brand that starts paying does not gain one.
How the two sides are kept apart
Commercial agreements are handled by the publisher’s partnerships staff. Reviewers work from the operator’s public terms, our own deposits and test withdrawals, and the reports readers send in. They do not see revenue figures per brand, and a review is never sent to an operator for approval before it goes live. If an affiliate manager asks us to soften a criticism or remove a complaint, the answer is no, and we may note the request in the review.
When a partner casino starts delaying payouts, changes its terms against players or receives a regulator sanction we can verify, the score drops at the next check and a warning is added, even if that costs us income.
Why this model
We could charge readers, sell display ads or take sponsored posts. Commission was chosen because it keeps the pages free and clean of banners, and because it lets us say plainly where the money comes from. The trade-off is obvious: we earn only when someone signs up. That is the reason for the rules above, and the reason we publish them.
Exclusive offers
Occasionally a casino hands us a code or package for our readers that its homepage does not show. We mark these as exclusive and quote the terms the operator supplied. An exclusive deal is a commercial agreement: it says nothing about whether the casino is a good choice for you, and it is scored like any other offer.
What you pay
Nothing extra. The operator’s offer and terms are identical whether you click through from us or open the casino directly, unless a review states otherwise for an exclusive code.
Prices and offers
Bonus amounts, wagering requirements and payment options change without notice. We check them and print the date, but the operator’s own Australian terms always win. Read them before you deposit.
Gambling is for adults
A commission is earned only if an adult registers. Online Aus Casinos is for readers aged 18 or over. If you find yourself gambling more than you planned, Gambling Help Online answers on 1800 858 858, and BetStop lets you exclude yourself from licensed Australian wagering services.
Advertising we do not accept
We do not sell banner space, sponsored articles or paid reviews, and we do not accept payment from operators that, in our judgement, target minors or advertise gambling as a source of income.
